We’re in this together

As Wirral’s only working independent Distillery, and in response to considerable demand from the general public and NHS front line services, we have decided to assist with the ongoing shortage of hand sanitiser.

We are converting our stocks of alcohol (ethanol), normally used to make gin, into producing Community Spirit Liquid Hand Sanitiser. We are manufacturing hand sanitiser to the World Health Organisation’s formula. This proven formula is a high-strength 80% alcohol-based sanitiser that is laboratory tested to the BS EN 1500:2013 standard. This means our hand sanitiser is suitable for use in medical and healthcare settings as well as for personal use. Lower strength products, including gels, are less effective.

It is our hope that switching production will make a small but vitally important contribution towards alleviating the ongoing shortage.

But that is not all – we want to do more than this. At a time of crisis, we want to support the heroes in our own community as they work tirelessly on the front line in the fight against COVID-19.

That’s why we’re asking everyone to join with us to show your support. For every purchase of hand sanitiser from our website, we will set aside a portion of the proceeds to go into producing hand sanitiser which we will then donate to those most in need.

This is a communal effort reflecting community spirit. Let’s all do something to make that small but important difference, where we can.

How to order:

The general public can order hand sanitiser online for delivery: https://www.tappersgin.com/product/sanitiser
Please note: the Distillery remains closed to visitors and it is not possible for orders to be collected.

Trade customers (private businesses and other organisations) wishing to order hand sanitiser in bulk, and also support our efforts to donate to those most in need, can request pricing: trade@tappersgin.com.

Front line services who need our support with donations of hand sanitiser should email us at: info@tappersgin.com. Please note that, due to unprecedented demand and our limited means, we are prioritising services within the Wirral area – if this situation changes, we will update our website.

We are thankful for your support in these difficult times and wish you and your families well: stay safe, and look after one another x
