Darkside: the name given to the Wirral Peninsula, in the spirit of local good-natured rivalry, by nose baggers (day trippers) from Liverpool who venture over to the ‘dark side’ of the River Mersey to visit quaint seaside towns and villages.
Darkside is our award-winning signature gin. Inspired by the British coast and our local maritime region, and a recipient of international accolades for quality, Darkside is an artisan gin hand-crafted from start to finish using the traditional method of compounding.
Darkside is independently produced in small batches at our Distillery on the Wirral. The resulting tipple – like all compounded gin – has a natural amber-hue from the infused juniper berries. Each 50cl bottle is individually filled, labelled and wax sealed by hand.
A delightfully pleasing mix of seaside botanicals, including red clover flowers and leaves, chickweed, and freshly foraged sea beet, is infused with five other valuable ingredients for an authentic taste of coastal Britain. Darkside has warming, herbal notes and is smooth and dry to finish.
Signature serve: Neat or on the rocks.
G&T perfect serve: Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic with a sprig of thyme and wedge of orange to garnish.
